4th Adult Film Star Tests Positive For HIV In 3 Weeks
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Another adult film star in Los Angeles has tested positive for HIV, an AIDS advocacy group confirmed Monday.
The actor, whose diagnosis marks the industry's fourth in three weeks, reported his test results to the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, according to City News Service.
His identity has not been released.
The Free Speech Coalition, a trade association for the adult entertainment industry, instated on Friday its second moratorium on filming in the last month after a third performer tested positive for the virus.
A six-day ban was previously placed on August 22 after a 28-year-old woman who worked under the name Cameron Bay received a positive test result.
Earlier in the week an actor, who goes by the name Rod Daily, wrote on his Twitter account that he contracted HIV in the past month.
The chief executive of San Francisco adult film company Kink Studios told the San Francisco Chronicle that Daily and Bay are in an off-screen relationship.
AHF spokesman Ged Kenslea and AHF president Michael Weinstein told CNS despite the moratorium there were online reports of people continuing to film and advertising for filming in Arizona.
AHF said it has filed a workplace-safety complaint with Cal/OSHA against the production company Kink Studios, where Bay worked.
The moratorium is ongoing.
