4 Suspects Arrested In Santa Monica Stabbing
SANTA MONICA (CBS) — Four people suspected in two robberies in Santa Monica — one of which left a 16-year-old girl with a stab wound to her face — were arrested on Friday, police said.
The girl had parked her vehicle in the 2000 block of Sixth Street about 9:10 a.m. Thursday and was walking to school when she was accosted by a woman who drove up and got out of a vehicle, said Santa Monica police Sgt. Jay Trisler.
"The suspect approached the victim and demanded her belongings," Trisler said. "As the suspect reached for the items, the victim blocked her hand. The suspect struck the victim in the face with a sharp object, resulting in a quarter-inch puncture wound."
The woman got away with some of the girl's property, Trisler said. The girl was treated at a hospital and released.
About 10 minutes after the girl was attacked, a person was robbed at Euclid and Michigan by a male suspect with a knife, Trisler said.
About 10 p.m. Thursday, Santa Monica detectives arrested four people in Los Angeles: two women, a man, and a 17-year-old whose name and gender were not released. All are residents of Los Angeles.
The adults were identified as: Mary Montes, 18; Crystal Marquez, 20; and Roberto Rodriguez, 28. Police did not immediately say what they were booked for.
