1 Injured In Fiery Crash On SB 405 Fwy In Carson
CARSON (CBSLA.com) — One person was injured early Tuesday morning after a fiery crash that shut down several lanes of the San Diego (405) Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol received a call around 4 a.m. about a possibly disabled vehicle just north of Alameda Street, according Officer Kyle Gilmur.
According to reports, the vehicle was completely stopped, blocking the middle lanes and blacked out.
"Shortly after the initial calls came in, we received updates that it was possible a tractor trailer had collided into the stopped vehicle," Gilmur said.

"The force of the collision caused the vehicle to veer towards the right shoulder before it began to catch fire. Fortunately there was a couple Good Samaritans who were traveling northbound on the 405 that saw the fire begin. They actually exited the freeway, turned around and drove back to attempt to render aid," he added.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with major injuries.

The truck driver suffered minor injuries.
All but the carpool lane were closed for some time. Only one lane remained blocked at 7:30 a.m.
The accident was under investigation.
