3rd Person Charged In Santa Ana Shooting Over Best Mexico State
SANTA ANA (AP) — A woman has been charged with gang-related murder over a deadly shooting at an Orange County restaurant.
Twenty-eight-year-old Maria Isabel Rocha of Santa Ana was charged Wednesday. She could face 50 years to life in prison if convicted.
Her 17-year-old brother, Ricardo Rocha, and 21-year-old Ivan Sanchez were previously charged.
The Rochas are jailed on $1 million bail. Sanchez is being held without bail.
Prosecutors contend the three got into an argument on Feb. 13 at a Santa Ana restaurant over which state in Mexico was better. Authorities say they left the restaurant but returned with a gun that Sanchez used to kill another patron in the parking lot. Maria Rocha is the alleged getaway driver.
Authorities say the victim, 35-year-old Esteban Navarrete, hadn't been involved in the argument.
