36th Annual Dana Point Turkey Trot To Take Place On Thanksgiving Day
STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The 36th Annual Dana Point Turkey Trot will take place on Nov. 28!
Heather Johnston of the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce, Mary Gray Perdue of Family Assistance Ministries, and James Littlejohn, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley, visited KCAL9 Friday to discuss the event.
The Turkey Trot, which features scenic courses through picturesque Dana Point Harbor and Doheny State Beach, is the sixth largest Thanksgiving Day race in the nation and second largest in California.
In addition to the 5K, 10K and Kids Gobble Wobble, there will be a Health & Wellness Expo on Wednesday, Nov. 27, as well as race day. The expo features a variety of booths related to health, fitness and wellness.
Proceeds from the race will go to four local charities, including the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment, Family Assistance Ministries, Veterans of Foreign War Post 9934, and The Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley.
For more information, visit Turkey Trot, as well as Crowdrise, if you'd like to donate to the charities.
