33M Expected To Travel Over Labor Day Weekend Despite High Gas Prices
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Gas prices have reached record levels in Southern California, but AAA is predicting a three percent uptick in travel over Labor Day weekend.
The average price for a gallon of self-serve gasoline has risen more than 33 cents to $4.12 a gallon over the last month, but 33 million Americans are still expected to hit the road for the holiday.
Phil Flynn, an analyst with Price Futures groups, tells KNX1070 that even with the Richmond refinery down from a fire, gas prices have peaked.
