30K To Receive Free Meals At 'We Give Thanks' Dinner In Anaheim
ANAHEIM (CBS) — Anaheim restaurant owner Frank Garcia is gearing up to serve 30,000 people at the 25th annual "We Give Thanks" Thanksgiving dinner.
Local hotels with huge commercial kitchens are already preparing thousands of turkeys for the feast, which will be served outdoors in the parking lot of the Honda Center.
Garcia says he's praying the weather will hold up throughout the day, but is asking for ponchos, umbrellas and a giant tent to be donated.
Hilton Anaheim, Marriott Anaheim, the Anaheim Ducks, the Honda Center, Jay's, the Anaheim Convention Center, and Garcia's restaurant, La Casa Garcia, are all sponsoring the event.
Free meals will be available Thursday, Nov. 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
