3 Straight Birdies Helps Tiger Make The Cut At Frys.Com Open
SAN MARTIN, Calif. (AP) -- The fog finally lifted at CordeValle and revealed a Tiger Woods that looked vaguely familiar.
Woods ran off three straight birdies early in his round and survived a bumpy patch in the middle for a 3-under 68 on Friday in the Frys.com Open. He was seven shots behind Paul Casey, making a revival of his own.
Woods at least will make it to the weekend, ending a streak of six straight rounds in which he failed to break par. He has played so little this year that it was the first time since the Masters that he made a 36-hole cut.
Casey won on the Korean tour last week and brought his form to Cordevalle. He had a 7-under 64.
The start of the second round was delayed 2 hours, 20 minutes because of heavy fog.
