Schools Placed On Lockdown Following South LA Robbery, Shooting
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Three South Los Angeles elementary schools were placed on lockdown Tuesday morning following an armed robbery and shooting in the area.
The robbery and shooting took place at 7:25 a.m. at 41 Street and Avalon Boulevard, near a recycling business, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
It was unclear what the suspect took from the victim before shooting him in the leg.
The suspect was described as a Black man, 20 to 30 years old, with possible tattoos on his face.
The LAPD placed Harmony and Wadsworth elementary schools and Wanda Mikes Primary Center on lockdown as a precaution.
Authorities lifted the lockdown at Wadsworth at 10:35 a.m.
