Lockdown Lifted In Paramount After Authorities Take Suspect Into Custody
PARAMOUNT (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Friday said they've taken one person into custody following a report of a man with a gun in Paramount.
The incident unfolded around 10:30 a.m. in the area of Rosecrans and Downey avenues, startling many in the area.

"I woke up around 10 and I heard someone jump on the roof, like a loud thud, and someone running across," a resident told KNX 1070's Vytas Safronikas. "A few seconds later, I see a bunch of cops who were coming and going and that's when they told us that we needed to get out."
Los Angeles County sheriff's Cpt. Merrill Ladenheim said a SWAT team, K-9 units and a helicopter sealed off the area in search of the parolee, who was believed to be armed and dangerous.
Paramount High School was placed on lockdown while Roosevelt Elementary and Wirtz Elementary schools were put on modified lockdown.
The suspect was captured more than five hours later, according to Safronikas. Deputies say the suspect was a parolee who had failed to report for a check-in.
It wasn't immediately clear whether the suspect, who was taken into custody, was armed.
No further details were released.
