3 Men, Teenage Boy Under Arrest Accused of Trafficking Teenage Girls In OC
ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Three men from the Fresno area and a 16-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of trafficking three teenage girls in Orange County.
The Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force received information about a runaway girl who was possibly a victim of human trafficking, according to Sgt. Daron Wyatt of the Anaheim Police Department, a member of the task force.
Investigators went to a motel in the 2200 block of South Harbor Boulevard in Anaheim late Friday night, began an undercover operation, rescued a 17-year-old girl and arrested two suspected traffickers.
Teantre Millro, 20, of Clovis, was booked at Orange County Jail and is being held in lieu of $70,000 bail. A 16-year-old boy was also arrested and booked at Orange County Juvenile Hall, Wyatt added.
Wyatt said during the initial operation, police developed leads about another group suspected of trafficking girls in Santa Ana.
Detectives began a second sting operation and learned another 17-year-old girl was brought to a motel in Anaheim by two men with the understanding she was going to be trafficked for sex, Wyatt said.
After the men were detained, investigators learned two other girls, 14 and 15 years old, were in a vehicle, Wyatt said.
Jonathan Hampton, 23, of Clovis and Martrell Mahone, 19, of Fresno, were booked at Orange County Jail on three counts of human trafficking. They are both being held in lieu of $70,000 bail.
Social Services and victim advocates are trying to reunite the victims with their families.
