3 Men Sought After Stealing $20K Worth Of Medical Marijuana From Courier
FULLERTON (CBS) — Police say they are searching for a trio of men who stole $20,000 worth of marijuana from a medical marijuana deliveryman in Fullerton.
The courier came from Oakland to Fullerton to deliver the medical marijuana, but it was apparently a set-up by the robbers, who painted a green cross on the wall, which usually denotes a medical marijuana dispensary, Fullerton police Sgt. Andrew Goodrich said.
When the courier arrived in the industrial complex in the 1100 block of East Elm Avenue about 3:20 p.m., he was jumped by the three men, Goodrich said.
During the struggle with the three men, about half the marijuana was scattered to the wind, but the robbers got away with about nine pounds worth of pot, which has a street value of about $20,000, Goodrich said. The robbers also took the victim's cell phone.
The victim suffered a cut to the head, but no serious injuries, Goodrich said.
