3 Face Attempted Murder Charges In USC-UCLA Brawl
PASADENA (CBS) — Criminal charges were filed Thursday against three siblings in connection with a fight in which two men were stabbed outside the Rose Bowl before Saturday's USC-UCLA football game.
Anthony Richard Cisneros, 22, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, while Arthur Joseph Cisneros, 25, and Akira Sheree Cisneros, 24, were charged with one count each of assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury.
The three, all from Winnetka, were set to be arraigned this afternoon in Pasadena Superior Court.
Their father, 44-year-old Arturo Cisneros of Northridge, had been initially arrested in connection with the fight, which broke out around 4:20 p.m. Saturday, but he was released Tuesday.
The Cisneros siblings were arrested about 8 p.m. Monday.
The fight in Parking Lot 1 was apparently triggered by an errant football that hit a Mercedes-Benz. In the ensuing melee, Joshua Dirling, a 27-year-old Cal State Fullerton student, was stabbed in the cheek, and Vimal
Patel, 24, was stabbed in the back.
Two other people were also arrested and charged in connection with the brawl.
Joshua Elder, 24, of Temple City, pleaded not guilty Monday to felony count of resisting an officer and one misdemeanor count of exhibiting a deadly weapon.
Steven Radu, 27, of Monrovia, pleaded not guilty to a felony count each of resisting an officer and attempting to take a person from the lawful custody of an officer.
