3 Arrests Made In Connection With Separate Online Threats Against School In Anaheim
ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say they have arrested three people in connection with two separate weekend online threats against a school in Anaheim.
Both alleged threats involved Loara High School located on Cerritos Avenue in Anaheim.
Police said they were made aware of a threat late Friday afternoon, which ultimately led to the arrest of a tenth grader at the school on suspicion of making criminal threats.
Police said it appeared though that the 15-year-old had no weapons and no way to carry out the alleged threat. He was booked into Orange County Juvenile Hall.
On Saturday evening, police said they were made aware of a second threat and arrested Miguel Meza, 18, of Anaheim on suspicion of making criminal threats and possession of loaded handguns.
Johnny Aguilar, 23, also of Anaheim, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of loaded handguns and alleged probation violations.
Police said both Meza and Aguilar were expected to be booked into the Orange County Jail.
"This investigation highlights the seriousness with which these threats are viewed and how quickly law enforcement will respond to prevent an incident from occurring," Anaheim police said in a news release.
