3 Arrested In Pomona On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Police say they've nabbed three people in connection with a shooting and car chase in Pomona.
Officers were called to a shooting around 7 p.m. Tuesday near East Holt Avenue and Gibbs Street, Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Alex Rilloraza said.
They found Joseph Sanabria, 35, suffering from gunshot wounds to the leg and foot, Rilloraza said.
An officer reportedly saw a vehicle leaving the scene and gave chase. The car drove off, long enough for the passengers to throw two handguns out the window, before coming to a stop, Rilloraza said.
Officials say those two weapons were recovered, along with another handgun found inside the car.
Officers arrested the three passengers: Lisa Marie Mendoza-Shelby, 45, of Pomona, William Shelby, 53, of Ontario, and Julio Shelby, 36, a transient, Rilloraza said.
They were reportedly booked on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police say it's unclear how the suspects may know each other.
