3 Arrested In Ontario Home Invasion Robbery
ONTARIO (AP) — Ontario police say three men have been arrested on suspicion of stealing more than $100,000 from members of a savings fund.
Sgt. David McBride says they were arrested Wednesday in Arlington, Texas, and will be extradited to face robbery charges. Only about $10,000 was recovered.
Police say two masked gunman invaded a home last December where nearly two dozen men were counting money in an Ontario home. The cash was contributed by about 240 people from the same town in Mexico, and distributed to members in times of hardship, with the remainder returned at the end of the year.
McBride says one of the men at the home pretended to be a robbery victim but actually helped set up the holdup. He was one of the three arrested.
