24-Year-Old Oxnard Man, Teen Held For Armed Carjacking
OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities have arrested a 24-year-old Oxnard man for an armed carjacking along with his underage teen accomplice.
The Oxnard Police Department says the suspect and his accomplice allegedly commandeered a vehicle from a driver in the area of Community Center Park West Sunday morning just before 2 a.m.
Officers were in the area in less than a minute after receiving the call but the suspects already fled the area in the victim's vehicle.
Police searched the area and contacted three people, two male and one female, who were believed to be involved in the carjacking. The two males were identified and arrested.
The adult male was identified as 24 year-old Oxnard resident, Alejandro Avila Arroyo. He was charged with two felonies, carjacking and possession of stolen property. A 16-year-old was also charged with carjacking.
The investigation is ongoing and the Oxnard Police Department is in search of any witnesses to this event.
