22-Year-Old Man Accused Of Attempted Murder After Victim Wouldn't Give Him Cigarette
SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities said a 22-year-old man is behind bars after he repeatedly stabbed a man with a pocketknife because the victim wouldn't give him a cigarette.
Officials said they discovered a stabbing victim walking on 6th Street, near Bonnie Street, around 8:30 a.m. Sunday in San Bernardino.
The unidentified victim was allegedly stabbed by Raul Martinez, a 22-year-old San Bernardino resident and known gang member.
The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local area ER for treatment.
Deputy D. Jessup's uncovered video showing Martinez and the victim just prior to the attack. Martinez was seen exiting a black two-door Honda Civic. Jessup later located the vehicle at an apartment complex in the 25500 block of 5th St in San Bernardino.
Martinez was found inside the residence and arrested, police said.
Officials allegedly located a knife and DNA evidence. Martinez was booked into the Central Detention Center and is currently being held without bail.
Hemet Police said Martinez is currently on parole for unrelated felony charges.
