215 Freeway Widening Project To Close Lanes Through Murrieta
MURRIETA (CBS) — Lanes on both sides of Interstate 215 in Murrieta will be periodically closed next week to facilitate work on a project that will add a lane to each side of the freeway.
From 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, lane closures are planned on the northbound I-215 between Scott and Murrieta Hot Springs roads, according to the Riverside County Transportation Commission.
From 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday, closures are also planned along the same six-mile stretch on the southbound side.
Additional closures are planned during the overnight hours on the weekend of Aug. 20-21.
Daytime delays are also expected at the Keller Road undercrossing at I- 215 in Murrieta, where a drainage improvement project is under way, according to county officials.
The widening project on the 215 is adding a lane to both sides of the freeway, for a total of six lanes. It's slated to be finished next year, according to county officials.
