2017 Tony Awards: Winners/Nominees In Major Categories
NEW YORK (CBSLA.com) — The 2017 Tony Awards aired on CBS Sunday evening.
"Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet Of 1812" leads the field with 12 nominations, recently revived "Hello, Dolly!" came in second with 10.
Host Kevin Spacey worked overtime including imitations of Johnny Carson and President Bill Clinton. He closed the show with a musical duet with legend Patti LuPone.
The "In Memoriam" segment sung by a soulful group led by where-has-he-been Justin Guarini, the runner up to Kelly Clarkson on the first season of "American Idol." Very stirring.
And Bette Midler seemed to thank everyone she's ever met. She refused to be drowned out by the orchestra.
