2 Students' Winning Recipes Added To LAUSD Menus!
STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Students take eating healthy at school into their own hands!
Los Angeles Unified Food Service Director David Binkle, Guadalupe Gonzalez from Panorama High School and Jose Landaverde from Manual Arts High School stopped by KCAL9 to discuss LAUSD Breakfast Recipe Contest!
The LAUSD contest during National Breakfast Week allowed students to create their own recipes and have them served on campus!
Gonzalez and Landaverde won the contest, and their winning dishes will be on the menu at all 800 LA Unified facilities.
LAUSD has also reduced salt, added sugars, fats and oils, as well as eliminated artificial additives in all its school meals. To check out the students' recipes and find out more, visit I'm In LAUSD.
