2 Schools Locked Down After Home Invasion Robbery In Anaheim
ANAHEIM (CBS) — Anaheim police locked down Jonas E. Salk Elementary School and Magnolia High School Tuesday to search surrounding neighborhoods for several robbery suspects.
The lockdowns were lifted about 11:30 a.m., according to Anaheim police Sgt. Bob Dunn said.
Authorities said the lockdown stemmed from a home invasion robbery at 3:30 a.m in a home in the 2500 block of West Heffron Drive.
When police arrived, they reportedly saw two males running away and found a man in his 30s inside the house with
"significant injuries as a result of some sort of physical altercation," the sergeant said.
Eventually, police widened the search and determined the schools should be locked down for about an hour, Dunn said.
About 10:30 a.m., police detained a man who matched the description of one of the suspects, Dunn said.
"It appears the motivation is robbery," but investigators were trying at midday to determine exactly what happened, Dunn said.
