2 Plead Not Guilty To Allegedly Stealing Maserati From Miley Cyrus' Home
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An Arizona man and woman have been charged in a string of Southland thefts and burglaries that included a 2014 Maserati stolen from the home of pop star Miley Cyrus, prosecutors announced Tuesday.
Tylor Scott, 19, and Naomi Charles, 21, both face one count each of first degree residential burglary, grand theft of personal property, grand theft auto and unlawful driving or taking of a vehicle, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office spokesman Ricardo Santiago.
They both pleaded not guilty to the charges at arraignment late Monday, Santiago said.
Investigators believe neither Scott nor Charles know Cyrus personally.
Scott was also charged with an additional counts of first degree residential burglary and grand theft firearm for allegedly burglarizing a Woodland Hills home on May 15 and stealing a 9mm Luger handgun, prosecutors said.
On May 30, Scott and Charles allegedly entered Cyrus' North Hollywood home and stole jewelry, purses and clothes worth thousands of dollars and the Maserati, according to prosecutors. The white, four-door Quattroporte was later found abandoned in Simi Valley.
If convicted, Scott faces a maximum possible sentence of nine years in state prison. Charles faces over seven years in state prison.
Bail was set at $150,000 for Scott and $100,000 for Charles.
A court hearing is scheduled for June 18.
