Burglary Suspects Arrested In Compton After 2-County Pursuit
COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — Authorities arrested three burglary suspects Tuesday afternoon in Compton after they led police on a high speed chase through two counties.
Riverside police were notified of three residential burglary suspects driving at a high rate of speed in a silver sedan just before noon, officials said.
When authorities tried to stop the vehicle, a chase ensued.
The suspects led police and the California Highway Patrol on several freeways where speeds reached 100 mph, officials said.
The chase ultimately led authorities to Compton where the suspect vehicle struck two cars before the three men abandoned the sedan on foot.
Two of the three suspects were arrested around 12:45 p.m., officials said.
SKY9's Derek Bell reported a third suspect was taken into custody shortly before 1:00 p.m. near Bennet Street and Wilmington Avenue.
