2 Cousins Gunned Down In San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO (CBS) — Two cousins have been shot and killed in San Bernardino, according to authorities.
The shooting occurred in the 1200 block of Genevieve Street around 11:45 a.m.
Homicide detectives are on scene trying to determine who killed the men. Witnesses said an argument between neighbors led to the shooting.
Edward Lawrence, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, spoke to concerned neighbors.
Mark Chambliss said it was bad enough that the crime occurred "in broad daylight," but said, "lots of kids play around here. It's real bad. It's real bad. I hope it changes."
Witnesses told Lawrence they heard "many" gunshots. He saw at least four markings for shell casings at the scene.
One of the victims was found outside, in the alley between two apartments. Authorities said the other victim was nearby, found inside an apartment.
Officials have not released a description of the shooter.
Police tell KCAL9's assignment desk that the victims have been identified as Rudolfo Trujillo, 29, of Rialto and Daniel Aguilar, 33, of Fontana. Both men were declared dead at the scene.
The investigation is on-going.
