Person Of Interest In NorCal Double Murder Among 2 Found Dead In Huntington Beach
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A sheriff's department spokesman in Sacramento County has confirmed that one of the two men found dead Tuesday afternoon at Bartlett Park in Huntington Beach was a person of interest in a Northern California double homicide.
Abraham Felmley, 32, was described as a person of interest in the double homicide of his uncle and grandfather, who died when the home they reportedly shared was set on fire Monday in Northern California.
Neighbors in the community said they knew Abraham Felmley well.
"He's homeless, he's been in and out of prison," said relative Darryl Felmley.
A park visitor called the Huntington Beach Police Department just before 1 p.m to report two bodies in an apparent homeless encampment in Bartlett Park, in the 19800 block of Beach Boulevard.
Arriving officers confirmed that two men were deceased in the park, which is in a heavily wooded area. Lt. Mitch O'Brien said both victims died from apparent gunshot wounds.
Monday afternoon a man matching Felmley's description reportedly carjacked a 1992 green Toyota Camry from a fisherman near Modesto. The car turned up in Bartlett Park Tuesday with different license plates near the location where the bodies were found.
Police would not comment as to whether the bodies in Bartlett Park were the victims of a murder-suicide, but stressed that they were not looking for any outstanding suspects in the Huntington Beach area. An autopsy will be performed to identify the second victim.
