2 Men Fatally Shot Near Car Wash In South LA
SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Two men were fatally shot Monday afternoon near a car wash in South L.A. after an apparent case of road rage, and police are looking for the gunmen.
It happened around 2 p.m. near Florence and Vermont avenues, close to Green Forest Car Wash, according to the LAPD.
Police suggest two drivers had a dispute on the road, at which point they pulled over near the car wash. The two parties began arguing, and the suspect developed a hand gun from his vehicle, and shot the two victims from the other car.
Both victims were transported to a hospital where they were pronounced dead. The victims have not yet been identified.
Investigators, who do not suspect any gang relation to the incident, said they're searching for a dark SUV with two men inside, which may have no license plates.
"We're looking for witnesses, anyone who would have been out here this afternoon around 2 p.m. at Florence and Vermont, here at the car wash, or anyone who might have seen this white vehicle behind me, along with a blue SUV," LAPD Detective Sal LaBarbera. "Any type of argument or road rage incident that may have happened along Florence."
Police said this incident wasn't related to another shooting near 65th Street and Vermont Ave.
Several security cameras in the area may aid in the investigation.
