2 Deputies Injured In Crash With Suspected Drunk Driver Near Malibu
MALIBU (AP) — Authorities say one of two Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies who were injured when their patrol car was rear-ended on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu has been released from the hospital.
The deputies were hurt when their car was hit Saturday morning by a suspected drunk driver and pushed 20 to 25 feet down an embankment to the beach.
The patrol car landed on a rocky section of beach shortly before 1 a.m.
Sheriff's Sgt. Matt Bossier says one of the deputies was released later Saturday.
The other deputy remains hospitalized. Bossier didn't know his condition, but it was not believed to be life-threatening.
Authorities say the driver of the other car was arrested for investigation of felony drunk driving.
