2 Killed In Car-To-Car Shooting In Residential Street In San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — Two people have been killed Wednesday in a car-to-car shooting in San Bernardino, authorities said.
Police say a driver in one car shot at another car, killing the driver and his female passenger.
The shooting happened just after 3 p.m. in a residential area of N. Pershing Avenue as children were getting home from school.
"We were just leaving to pick our kids up from school and we've seen all this taped off and the street, we turn this corner millions of times a day, and to see this happen, it's just awful, it's terrible," one resident said.
After the shooting, the vehicle with the gunshot victims crashed into the front of a home.
That homeowner said he jumped up to look out his front window.
"I jumped to go look out the front window because we don't hear gunshots in this neighborhood," he said. "It was quite the excitement that I don't ever want to go through again."
One person died at the scene while a second was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
There was no immediate information on the suspect vehicle, which authorities believe fled the scene.
There have been 22 homicides in San Bernardino this year to date, a fact that has residents on edge.
Anyone with more information was asked to call San Bernardino police as the incident remains under investigation.
