2 Killed, 4 Injured In Northridge Crash
NORTHRIDGE (CBSLA.com) — Two people were killed and four others injured Wednesday night in a crash along a San Fernando Valley road.
The crash occurred just after 8:30 p.m. in the 8300 block of Tampa Avenue near Roscoe Boulevard in Northridge, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A blue pickup truck, driven by 24-year-old Pablo Castaneda, and white sedan were reportedly speeding when the truck spun out of control, hit three women, including 19-year-old Jasmine Dubon, who was waiting at a bus stop and crashed into a pole. The driver of the sedan then slammed into a minivan, according to authorities.
A total of six people ranging in age from 22 to 80 years old were transported to trauma centers. Castaneda and Dubon died at Northridge Hospital.
"He might have messed up, and sorry about the loss the other person had. It was an accident," the driver's brother, Juan Lomeli, said.
The two other women who were struck on the sidewalk and the male drivers of the sedan and minivan were all in critical condition.
Police believe the accident was the cause of road rage or racing. The drivers were going up to 90 miles per hour.
No arrests have been made.
