2 Injured In Shooting On Interstate 10 In Baldwin Park
BALDWIN PARK (AP) — Two people have been wounded in a Southern California freeway shooting.
The California Highway Patrol says a gunman in a passing car on Interstate 10 peppered a white BMW with bullets, wounding the BMW driver and a passenger at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Baldwin Park area east of Los Angeles.
The BMW crashed into the concrete center divider and the gunman's vehicle sped off.
CHP Sgt. John Escobedo tells City News Service that one victim in critical condition and the other is in serious condition.
It's unclear if the shooting was gang related or the result of road rage.
Westbound lanes of the freeway were shut down for hours while investigators collected bullet casings and other evidence. The westbound lanes were reopened at about 5 a.m.
