Good Samaritan Rescues Elderly Man, Woman As Fire Engulfs Brentwood Home
BRENTWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A neighbor rescued an elderly man and woman from a burning home in Brentwood Monday.
KNX 1070's Ron Kilgore reports the estimated $1 million property in the 1200 block of Chickory Lane in Brentwood caught fire just before noon.

A nearby brush fire, just west of the Getty Museum, also threatened nearby residences.
It took 95 firefighters a little over an hour to knock down the fire, Shawn Lenske of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Byron Wright, 90, was treated for minor smoke inhalation and taken to the hospital. His 90-year-old female companion was treated at the scene for minor injures. No other injuries were reported.
The home's electricity wasn't working properly Monday morning and the fire some time afterwards, Wright said.
Wright and the woman were trying to find their little dog, "Boomer," as flames roared through their home.
Neighbor Jesse Muro saw the smoke from down the street, ran to the house and helped the man and woman escape.
"If it wasn't for my friend Jesse to get there as quick as he did and run down there, I, truthfully, think the smoke inhalation would have...yeah, another couple of minutes and there was a very good chance of them not making it," another neighbor said.
As the victims stood outside the home Boomer came running out after them.
A red flag warning was in effect for local mountain areas on Monday, but the winds had little effect on the blaze.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
