2 Critically Injured In Crash Involving Ambulance, Firefighters
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Two Los Angeles firefighters riding in an ambulance were involved in a traffic collision Friday afternoon that left at least three people injured, two critically, a city fire spokesman said.
A vehicle and ambulance collided around 2:30 p.m. at 8524 S. Grammercy Place, near Manchester Avenue, said Matt Spence of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
One person was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated, Spence said. A total of three people in the car were injured, two critically and the other in fair condition, he said.
The firefighters were taken to hospitals for observation, but the extent of their injuries was unknown.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
