2 Critical In 2-Car Crash In Riverside
RIVERSIDE (CBS) — A two-car crash in Riverside Sunday left three people injured, including two critically, according to the police department.
The crash occurred outside the Canyon Creek Apartments at 600 Central Ave. at about 9:50 a.m., said Riverside police Sgt. Dan Reeves.
A 22-year-old man driving a 2007 Lexus sedan with a 21-year-old female passenger was exiting the parking lot of the apartment building and drove into the path of a 2012 Chrysler 300 driven by a 28-year-old man, Reeves said.
"The Chrysler broadsided the Lexus in the number two lane of eastbound Central, causing major damage to both vehicles," Reeves said.
Firefighters extricated the driver of the Lexus, who was taken to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in critical condition. His female passenger was taken to Riverside Community Hospital, also in critical condition, according to Reeves.
The Chrysler driver was taken to Riverside Community Hospital in stable condition, he said.
Police were investigating the crash and did not immediately release the names of the victims.
