2 Children, 2 Others Badly Hurt In Rollover Crash On 405 Freeway

MISSION HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Four people, including two children, were badly injured Monday when the SUV they were in rolled over on the 405 Freeway, authorities reported.

The accident occurred at 6:21 p.m. on the northbound side of the freeway near the San Fernando Mission Boulevard exit, according to CHP Officer Jennifer Cassidy.

Seven people were riding inside a Ford Explorer when the SUV overturned, leaving four people in serious condition.

A 1-year-old boy and a 6-year-old boy were among those injured, along with a 19-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, LAFD spokesman Erik Scott said. They were all taken to a hospital.

The accident caused a major traffic backup.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
