2 Californians Split $1.8M In Powerball, Gardena Ticket Holder Wins $9M SuperLotto
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) – It was a winning weekend in a big way for at least three California residents.
Two Los Angeles residents will split $1.8 million on Powerball for having 5/5 tickets (just missing the Powerball number.)
And one lucky ticket holder in Gardena is $9 million richer having matched all six numbers in Saturday's SuperLotto Plus draw.
The winning ticket was sold at Rose Van Liquor (14306 S. Van Ness Avenue.) The numbers drawn in the SuperLotto Plus were 11, 13, 15, 17, 26 and the Mega number was 26.
No tickets matched all six numbers in Saturday's Powerball.
Two tickets with 5/5 were sold in Los Angeles (Water Gourmet, 3756 W Ave 40, #2C) and Hollywood (Shelly Cafe, 7013 Hollywood Blvd.) Each 5/5 ticket holder will pocket $917,856.
Numbers picked were 7, 12, 26, 36, 40 and the Powerball 17.
Because no one in the country matched all six numbers, the jackpot for next Wednesday's draw will be at least $222 million.
Powerball is played in 43 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Powerball starts at $40 million. The record jackpot reached $588 million in November 2012.
California's SuperLotto Plus starts at $7 million. The record jackpot was $193 million in February 2002.
