2 Arrested In Coto De Caza For Possible Hate Crime Attack
COTO DE CAZA (AP) — Investigators say three men yelling anti-Semitic slurs beat up a man in a park in the exclusive Coto de Caza area familiar to reality TV show viewers as the home of "The Real Housewives of Orange County."
Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino says Matthew Branstetter and Nolan Wickham, both 19, are in jail and have been booked for investigation of robbery and committing a hate crime. Bail is set at $50,000 each.
A third suspect has eluded capture.
Amormino says the suspects hit and kicked the victim before striking him from behind with a board or a tree branch.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he underwent surgery on Thursday.
