2 Arrested In $1M Pot Raid At Hidden Hills Home
HIDDEN HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Deputies confiscated $1 million worth of marijuana in a raid on a Hidden Hills home and arrested two men, authorities reported.
Investigators served a search warrant in the 23000 block of Oakfield Road Wednesday morning and seized about 1,000 marijuana plants, 40 pounds of processed marijuana product, 47 ballasts, 37 high-intensity lights and a .40-caliber Beretta semi-automatic handgun, said Lt. Matthew Squire of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.
An illegal electrical bypass was installed at the home to power the illicit marijuana grow, Squire said. Southern California Edison is investigating what appeared to be an ongoing theft of electricity.
Robert Larue, 54, of Lawndale, and Mauricio Lara, 50, of Los Angeles, were arrested at the home, Squire said.
They were booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Station for alleged transportation, sale and furnishing marijuana, cultivation of marijuana and theft of utilities.
Both suspects were released after posting $100,000 bond, Lt. Josh Thai said.
