18-year-old woman arrested for stabbing teenage boy in Banning
Police arrested an 18-year-old woman over the weekend after she allegedly stabbed a teenage boy during some sort of confrontation.
It happened just before 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning at a home in the 1500 block of Altura Place, at which point officers were dispatched for calls of a possible home invasion in the area, according to the Banning Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers say that they instead found the teenage boy suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment on injuries that were considered to be life-threatening.
"He suffered severe injuries, but is expected to recover," said BPD Captain Brandon Smith in a statement.
Officers determined that there was some sort of altercation between the victim and the suspect, since identified as Eirianna Mariah Zaragoza, which led to the stabbing.
Zaragoza called 911 to report the incident, police said.
She was taken into custody without further incident and booked on suspicion of attempted murder and domestic violence. She is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
