17-Year-Old Boy Fatally Shot In La Puente
LA PUENTE (CBSLA.com) — An investigation is underway in La Puente Friday after authorities say a 17-year-old boy was fatally shot.
The shooting occurred about 11:38 a.m. in the 700 block of Millbury Avenue, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a written statement.
The statement said the boy was standing in the driveway of a home with acquaintances when he was approached by two suspects on foot, one of whom allegedly shot him.
Deputies said the teen was struck in the upper torso and died at the scene.
"The suspects were last seen driving away in a blue or green vehicle in an unknown direction," the statement added.
Deputies said the shooting appears to be gang-related.
