A 17-year-old boy was arrested following a shooting after a high school football game in Riverside County, authorities said Thursday.

The shooting happened in Norco nearly a week earlier, on Friday, Sept. 13, when a crowd of more than 200 people gathered after the game and an argument broke out, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office. The teenager surrendered to deputies five days later and sheriff's officials say he is suspected of multiple counts of attempted murder.

The evening of the shooting, deputies responded just before 10 p.m. to the 1800 block of Hamner Street, where there's a shopping center with a bowling alley and an In N Out restaurant. Investigators learned there had been an argument between two groups of people and a male suspect fired several shots, sheriff's officials said.

He fled the area before deputies arrived. No one was injured.

Detectives later identified the suspected shooter as a resident of Jurupa Valley and served search warrants as part of the investigation. But the teenager remained at large for days.

On Wednesday, he turned himself in at the Riverside County Sheriff's Office's Jurupa Valley Station and was booked into juvenile hall, officials said. He is not being identified since he's underage.

Investigators believe there could be other victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward. The Riverside County Sheriff's Office can be reached at 951-955–2600.
