17 Arrested During Anti-Zimmerman Protest In Victorville
VICTORVILLE (CBSLA.com) — Seventeen people, including eight juveniles, were arrested Wednesday for allegedly trying to storm the Victor Valley Mall during an anti-George Zimmerman protest.
Security personnel locked the doors as dozens of people tried to gain entry to the mall and deputies made several announcements on a PA system telling the crowd to disperse.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department confirmed that most people left without incident, but six to eight individuals were detained for failing to disperse.
A splinter group of about 10 to 15 young people allegedly opened items at a nearby Chevron station and left without paying.
There were no reports of injuries or damage.
