16-Year-Old Shot To Death In Highland Park
HIGHLAND PARK (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 16-year-old male was shot to death in Highland Park Saturday.
Officers from the LAPD's Northeast Gang Enforcement detail were patrolling the area of North Avenue 52 and Figueroa Street when they heard multiple gunshots around 8:45 p.m.
Police traveled west towards Monte Vista. The officers came upon an unresponsive teen on the ground in the 100 block of North Avenue.
The teen was declared dead at the scene.
Two suspects reportedly approached the victim and shot him. The men fled in a dark colored mid-sized car.
The victim's identity is withheld until next of kin can be notified.
The suspects and victim were all described as Latino.
