125-Acre Brush Fire Reported North Of Lake Piru
LAKE PIRU (CBSLA.com) — A brush fire broke out Sunday afternoon in a recreation area north of Lake Piru.
The blaze was reported just after noon and prompted the evacuation of a nearby campground.
Officials told CBS2 that the fire, believed to have been started by lightning, was up to 125 acres. It was burning in a remote area and no structures were threatened.
The Ventura County Fire Department, along with Los Angeles County Fire Department, were assisting in the firefight.
