$10K Reward Offered For Suspect Sought In Alondra Park Carjacking, Kidnapping
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect wanted for a kidnapping and carjacking that occurred at Alondra Park last month.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies have been searching for the suspect since July 19, when three victims were approached by an unknown male.
The victims say they were sitting in their vehicle in the parking lot of the park around 5:15 p.m. when the suspect reportedly entered the vehicle and forcibly obtained the key from the driver.
The suspect then drove away from the park with two victims in the backseat and left the driver standing in the parking lot.
The suspect crashed into multiple vehicles and allegedly threatened to kill the victims after they pleaded with him to see them free.
The suspect fled after crashing into another vehicle at Van Ness Boulevard and Imperial Highway in the city of Hawthorne.
He is described as a black man between 20 to 25 years old, six feet tall, weighing 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is offering the reward.
