CASTAIC (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters Saturday made steady progress against a brush fire burning in rugged terrain near San Francisquito Canyon in Castaic.
The aerial fight against the so-called Bee Fire, which charred 100 acres, went into the night. It was 50 percent contained, as of Saturday evening.
Officials said the fire is holding at about 100-acres.
The fire erupted about 5:18 p.m. Friday in San Francisquito Canyon and Bee Canyon just south of where the so-called Powerhouse Fire had erupted earlier this season.
A plane and three helicopters were dispatched to the firefight along with over 150 firefighters.
No injuries have been reported and no evacuations were ordered.
Authorities said that one structure, described as an outbuilding, was lost.
