10 Arrested After Allegedly Soliciting For Prostitution At OC Massage Parlors
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Ten people were arrested after reportedly soliciting for prostitution at Huntington Beach massage parlors.
The unidentified suspects were taken into custody Feb. 28 during an undercover inspection of the parlors, which was conducted by authorities from Huntington Beach, Anaheim, the California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control, and the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force.
Officials said they are working to limit massage businesses in Huntington Beach, according to Huntington police Lt. Mitch O'Brien.
"Our numbers are so high now," O'Brien said. "But some of these are legitimate massage establishments. We don't want to paint everyone with a broad brush."
The number of parlors in the city increased from nine to 65 since the state started regulating the businesses in 2009.
