1 Person 'Significantly' Hurt In Riverside Crash
RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — One person was "significantly" injured and a number of vehicles left disabled following a crash on the 91 Freeway in Riverside on Sunday morning.
Dispatchers received a call about the crash, in which an eastbound vehicle struck a guardrail east of La Sierra Avenue and ran down an embankment, at 6:26 a.m.
The vehicle's engine was sheared off on impact, Riverside Fire Battalion Chief Bill Stamper said, leaving debris on the freeway. Cars with blown out tired pulled to the right shoulder, and a tanker heading to Banning for Orange County sustained a punctured fuel tank.
There were four people in the single vehicle involved in the crash, with one of them "significantly" injured, Stamper told City News Service. That person was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
