1 Killed, 1 Wounded In South LA Shooting
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Sunday said one young man was shot and a second was wounded inside the Nickerson Gardens housing project in South Los Angeles.
Los Angeles police Sgt. Matt Cundiff said the twin shootings occurred about 4:40 a.m. near the intersection of 114th Street and Success Avenue.
"Two young men were walking down the street inside Nickerson Gardens when someone drove up and shot them both," the sergeant said.
Cundiff said one of the men was shot in the head and died at the scene.
The second victim was wounded and treated at the scene before being taken to a hospital.
It was unclear if the shooting was gang-related.
The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
