Woman Injured, Suspect Arrested In Glendale Stabbing
GLENDALE (CBSLA.com) — A woman was injured Thursday in a stabbing in Glendale.
The incident took place around 10:30 a.m. at San Fernando Road and Pacific Avenue, Tom Lorenz of the Glendale Police Department said.
The woman in her 40s was about to cross the street with her 17-year-old daughter when a man walked up to her and stabbed her in the upper torso with a small knife, according to police.
The man was a complete stranger to the woman, authorities said. They also said he attacked without any provocation.
"He continued to walk and we detained him two blocks away," Lorenz said.
The woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
"This is one of the safest cities in the United States. We've only had one homicide in the last four years — these things don't happen," Lorenz added.
The identity of the suspect or the victim have not been released.
